Meet cancer survivor, Gabby – an amputee and ballerina. Gabby had her right leg amputated at the knee after being diagnosed with a rare bone cancer at the age of 9. Surgeons were able to salvage her lower tibia and rotated it 180 degrees before reattaching it. Now, after much healing, physiotherapy and everything else that has sped up her recovery, Gabby is able to attend classes where she currently trains to become a professional ballet dancer. It is truly remarkable to see how well she’s doing given the circumstances.
Her knee has been replaced with her ankle which allows her to walk and dance with the help of a prosthesis.
Working on some ballet moves – Nice!
It is nice to see Gabby coping well and I wish her the very best in her endeavors.
