Cat vs. Pit Bulls – A cat attacked a gang of pit bulls as they were being walked in Victoria, BC Canada.
The ‘senior citizen’ cat called Baby, had been in the garden of their home with owner Del Thompson when it noticed the dogs.
Terrified by their sight, size and probably number, it launches attack on them leaving at least one or more dogs needing vet treatment and an owner requiring medical attention.
The cat which was adopted nearly 16 years ago by Mr Thompson and wife has sent an owner of one of the dogs to the emergency room and another dog requiring immediate attention to the vet.
Kyla Grover, owner of one of the pit bulls being walked by a provincial dog-walking group known as The Pit Bulls of Victoria, BC walking group, stated the seven pit bulls “were completely minding their own business” during the walk on Monday morning.
“The cat just goes at all of the dogs, not backing down,” she told the Vancouver Sun. “The cat is swiping at them and latched onto one of the dog’s faces.
“I got bit and scratched in the process of trying to separate them. I spent the whole night at emergency because cat bites are nasty.”
Another owner, Javiera Rodriguez’s pit bull Bandida needed a trip to the vet after the incident, and Mr Thompson and his wife have apparently since reimbursed her for the bill.
Mr Thompson told the Vancouver Sun that the pet leapt to his defence when one of the animals dogs him.
He said: “She’s kind of a slow sort of thinking cat but one thing is she is very protective of me.
“She’s a watchdog and doesn’t know it.”
